Ironically, this may be the most I can do. I can only imagine how difficult vectoring would be, or even (gasp!) drawing FROM SCRATCH!?!?!?!?!?

If you can't tell (because I used a smaller brush) it's another one of those faux-paintings, like that Applejack one.

No I did not, but that's a very interesting guess. Wish I was cool enough to do that.

Really I just cut out a scene from the episode and spent about two hours painting over it piece by piece in Photoshop. Tried to make it relatively smooth but left parts rough on purpose to make it clear that it wasn't a vector. Then I painted some paper shadows for flavor.

Sorry it's not as cool as you thought it was, heh.
